Scattante Bikes from Supergo...(5 posts)

Scattante Bikes from Supergo...asphalt assault
Feb 23, 2003 6:09 AM
A friend of mine is looking at the $995 (or thereabouts) model. It comes with all Ultegra components but the price seems too good to be true. Does anyone have any experience with these bikes? Why so cheap?

Your expert (and otherwise) opinions are greatly appreciated.

How you doin? They are fine frames. I have had one. Forgot to mention that in my earlier post. They use Columbus tubing. It is a great bargain. It is their housebrand.
MUCH better deal on a FUJI TEAM from bikesdirect.comsaraspeed

The specs look good on the Scattante - but this is a house brand bike - with no dealer network. You can get a Fuji Team which is lighter and much nicer for $1095 on www.bikesdirect.com - and you get a nationwide warranty

or you can get a Motobecane with Ultegra and a triple for about $1000

-- but at least - the online sellers are driving NEW Ultegra road bikes down to $1000 range - and dealers will soon have to follow - or we will all be buying online
here's your better deal...saraspeed
