Well I'm leaving in 2 weeks. I'm just wondering if anyone in Australia or who has been to Australia has any advice that might be helpful?

Thanks!

Climbo, I happen to like Fosters especially the Bitter. Well i really like beer period my two favorites being cold and free. So what's the deal with Fosters, does it mark you as a tourist? Oh and I have heard from friends in the services that the Aussies are great people, love us Yanks(i'm from the south but we're all yanks to them) love to buy u a beer(plenty) and then want to fight just for the sport of it, and then buy u another around.
there are LOTS better beers than Fostersclimbo

It may mark you out as a tourist but...if you do order Fosters, hopefully somebody will overhear you and set you straight with a Coopers or a Crown, perhaps a Tooheys Old. A Cold, a New, a Boags, a Cascade or a good old VB... the list goes on depending on where you are. Be prepared to 'shout' rounds.

the Aussie's I know like to be friendly, but don't, as you have a tendency to do, spill out your life story in the first five minutes.
It puts you right into the Ugly American hole.
