Anybody out there in the Tri-Cities area of Washington state that can point me in the direction of any good/safe road rides.

I'll be up that way next week on a business trip and will be bringing my cx bike. I'll only be able to ride in the evenings after dark w/lights, so I don't feel like doing any exploring on my own without at least a good route recommendation.

Please save me from having to borrow a trainer from a friend and logging miles in a hotel room.

Thanks

My parents live in Richland and when I visit there I like to ride north from Richland up George Washington Way and go up into the Hanford reservation and turn around at the guard gate at the "Y" barricade and come back the way I came. The road has nice wide shoulders and on the weekends is almost completely free of car traffic.
Ditto that, and another possibilitybrider

The Hanford thing was used as the district TT long ago. Decent ride, fairly flat, no traffic on weekends. For another challenging ride, try the roads around the Benton County fire dept. A couple races are run out of there, one parallels the highway and does a big rectangle. Also, if you want hills, there's the Horse Heaven HIlls RR course (about 20 miles around, with good climbs). I'd tap into a local to guide you through these last two, as I've only done them as races, and really don't know how traffic is at other times.
Thanks guys......I'll check those out.......NMTWD
