I'm in Phoenixville, PA (30 miles northwest of Phila), and this plain sucks. 24' of snow predicted. I posted a pick of what it looks like at 2 pm Sunday. I hope this is winters last gasp, a big one at that. I was hoping to go riding OUTDOORS sson. Guess we'll have to wait another few weeks.

...'bout the same here in SW Ohio...Akirasho

... we already had compacted sneau on many side streets as well as good ground cover... this only seals the deal... we won't see pavement (in general) for a week or so at the earliest...

Saddest of all... Murphy has struck again. I've got a snowblower in the basement... but my snow shovel and fuel for the blower are about 80 feet away... in the snowed in garage!

Be the bike.

where do you live exactly? I grew up in Chester Springs, right off of Rt. 113, near Hallman's store! Used to be great riding! Heard it was getting really grown up!

I live right off 113 and Pothouse road...Eland Downe, right near the Genaurdi's/Wawa intersection.

Not sure how long ago you lived here, but the area has become vey developed. Business and resdential. Chester Springs is still not to bad. I teach Martial Arts at The Montgomery School. Know that area well.

shoot me your email address. I moved after the winter of 93 when it was about the same as it was today! SC is much more cycling friendly! (nm)CJ838

I'm in MalvernJL

Hey CJ,

I'm over in Malvern. I ride up towards you all the time. We'll have to try and hook up when the snow disappears. I haven't been outside for a while and riding inside, when I've done it, has really sucked.

See you on the road.

Email me you address. We'll have to get together.

Our deep freeze finally broke, so there is hopeKristin

This years Jan/Feb freeze wasn't quite as cold as it could have been, but its lasted longer the usually with no breaks. Finally, today it broke. I was downright baulmy this morning.
Sucks for biking, but it ROCKS for skiing=)look271

Can't you see the "oh my God I can't beleive there is so much powder here in PA" grin on my face?! I just got back from the best skiing that I have EVER seen here in PA. Best part is that since it is snowing, most of the "fairweather skiers" from MD and DC and Philly area are ALL AT HOME! =)))
You guys don't know what snow is!!!Alexx

Up here in upstate NY, we've had 120" of snow already this season. Some places (like Oswego) have already had 200"!
Aside from a few furtive and short rides om my ATB (with bladed tires), I've been on my fixed gear (with studded Nokian tires on it, yet) only once since early December, and haven't been on my road bike since November.

Where are you in upstate, NY. I used to live in Tonawanda. I have family in Syracuse. I know what snow is too. I also lived in North Dakota. That place was aweful all year round, not just winter. ND, really sucks.

Yeah, my dad's lives in Ticonderoga and said this year has been insaneKristin

Upstate NY gets alot of snow but 120 inches is unusual even for them. I remember moving up to Ti from Connecticut and being horrified that I was expected to be at work on time even in blizzard-like conditions. Sell the a plow.

set up the rollers in the garage, opened the garage door wide so I could breathe lots of fresh air and did rollers for 45 mins while the snow fell. Very relaxing since I have been doing 16 hour days for the past 5 weeks and no riding.
It is actually now my favorite type of roller workout, especially the hot shower afterward when coming in from the cold temps.

Riding rollers outside? I'm sorry, but that is nutz! If you are forced to ride rollers/trainer, at least do it in the warmth!

Too funny! Glad you enjoy it though! :)
