Hey I was wondering how you liked your two bikes. You have a bike I just recently got (in the Fondy Carb Level) and a bike that I would also love to get (in the Team SC). How long have you had the 2 bikes and how do they compare? Which do you like better and why?? Which is lighter?? Thanks. Ride ON!!!

Sorry I missed your earlier post. Both are great bikes but I picked up the Fondriest late in October so my impressions are pretty preliminary. The Merckx replaced a LS Ultimate and maintains much of the stiffness of the LS but with a smoother and more compliant ride. The lower bottom bracket on the Merckx also contributes to the overall stability of the ride. The Fondriest doesn't feel quite as stiff or as quick but the ride is smoother than the Merckx and more like my Look kg281. That said, the Look is my favorite long distance ride and the Merckx the one I'm most likely to turn to for speed. The Fondriest, nice as it is, is probably at present the bike most likely to go if I decide to scale back my own collection to support my daughter's growing cycling aspirations.

I am waaay jealous!!! I've always lusted after the Team SC, Carb Level, De Rosa Merak, and the Klein Q-Pro Team Carbon. I am a little suprised to hear that the SC is stiffer, especially with the Carb Level's carbon stays and CNC bottom bracket. Oh well, maybe carbon stays and the CNC BB really is a marketing gimmick. Still think you can't go wrong with any of these bikes mentioned above. Thanks and Ride ON!!!
