I need to get pedals for my new bike. I was going to get Speedplay x-2's but I saw some Time Impacts at the LBS and now I'm not sure which ones to get. What would you guys suggest?

Well, I've had several sets of Time pedals but not the new Impacts. And I've had the Speeplay road pedals. I prefer the very free Speeplay float, which isn't spring loaded like the Times, but thought the Times felt more solid--better power transfer. Now I ride with Speedplay Frogs on all my bikes cause I like to be able to walk and I actually think the Frogs feel better/more solid than the Speedplay road version. The newly designed Frog cleat is fantastic, too--solved the few issues I had with the Frogs. Check the reviews on this site for more good info on all these pedals.

Both are good. Not that it matters, but you will see alot of pros riding look and time. Alot of people like to say this is a sponsorship thing, but if you look closely at alot of photos it's not really true. You see plenty of guys riding for teams that have a pedal sponsor that they are not using. The best pedal for you is the one that you are most comfortable with. Speedplays are more common here because they are an american product. In europe you see looks and time predominately. Shops make more on the speedplays here. Either pedal you pick is good.
