|Does anyone know where to get a decent road bike in the Amsterdam/Rotterdam area? I am studying abroad in this area and can't seem to find any kind of used bike that isn't 30 years old with fenders and a 10 pound rack...(of course they have their benefits for riding around town). I bought one of these crappy bikes thinking it would just give me a better work out but I tried a long ride today and it was just a pain in the neck...I need a decent used road bike! Can anyone recommend any shops? I'm in Leiden but would be easily able to travel to Amsterdam, Den Haag, Rotterdam to get a half decent ride. Thanks!

|Want a new bike, try Lohman at the de clerqstraat 70 in Amsterdam or Mammoet at the Stationsweg in the Hague.
For a good used bike, I would look ouside of the big city's in your area, you'll problably get better prices and a more decent bike.
You could also take a look at http://www.marktplaats.nl/markt/fietsen/racefietsen.htm for a used bike.
What kind a bike are you looking for, what budget? Could do a quick search for you.

|I'm looking for something as cheap as possible while still being a half decent ride. Ideally I'd like to spend under 150 euro...I realize this isn't much but an old 10 speed with toe clips would be excellent (seeing as I didn't bring cycling shoes and that would just be another expense to buy here). I have a nice bike at home and the cost of shipping is a lot so I would just assume leave the bike in Europe. That being said I ride a 58cm at home but I think anywhere from 56-60 cm would be good enough if the price is right (I'm on a student budget).|
