Fuji Newest vs Trek 1000(4 posts)

Fuji Newest vs Trek 1000SuperGnome

Hi again...

I'm torn between last years Fuji Newest and this years Trek 1000. The trek fist perfectly, but the breaks feel very weak, the shifting doesn't feel as spot on as the tiagra on the Newest.

Does anyone have any experience with both Fuji's and Treks?
Any differences in frame quality, how the geometry is figured (do either size larger than the other), etc...

I can get the Fuji for $650 and the Trek for $600 (but then needs pedals) so the cost is about the same.

I just realized it might help a tiny bit to say the Trek is all Sora and the Fuji is all Tiagra. They're both 56cm.
Go with the FujiZeGopha

Personally I would recomend going with the fuji. It has better components and the frames will be comparible. If it were the Trek 1200 I would say go with it hands down. The 1000 frame is made overseas so it really isn't a lot different than the Fuji. I know people who have both companies and they are happy. If you are looking to save more money, though, you make look into KHS bikes. Just a couple thoughts from a rodent.
