FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Prosecutors in Fort Collins have filed charges against one teenager accused of attacking bicyclists and are reviewing whether to file charges against two other teens.

Police said that beginning in December, two 16-year-old boys and a 17-year-old boy began following bicyclists while riding in a vehicle. Officials said the boys would approach the bicyclists and hit them with a baseball bat in a stunt that is known as "bicycle boxing."

Will Gabler, 28, told police he was bicycling on Jan 13 when he saw a Jeep Wrangler in his mirror approaching from behind. "All of a sudden something hit me."

Gabler said a male 17 to 18 years old was hanging out the window holding an aluminum bat. Gabler was struck on the hand.

Seven other similar reports from bicyclists were received by Fort Collins Police.

Authorities said a 17-year-old boy has been charged with second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and underage consumption of alcohol. He will appear in court on Feb. 21.

Evidence against the other youths is being reviewed, officials said.

the kids were also using paintball guns on pedestrians and the baseball bats on cars parked curbside. horrifying. 100% at night, and 100% on tape from inside the kids' cars. of course, they were all caught and prosecuted (far too leniently, i'm sure).

While doing the Cape-Ann loop here in Massachussetss quite a while back, some A$%(^* rode by me and blasted an air horn in my ear. I almost jumped off my bike like a scared cat. Then swore, then sped up.... unfortunately I couldn't catch them. Probably would have been a fatality in the making if I had... (mine or theirs ... I was so angry!)

Honestly I am disappointed they're not charged with premeditated murder attempt
