Good Deal on Open Pros?(5 posts)

Good Deal on Open Pros?El Kabong

Could any kind soul point me to a good deal on Mavic Open Pros? I could be looking for the CD or the plain, depending on the price.

I'm looking to build up a wheelset, but unfortunately I came across an already built set for a lot less than I can acquire the parts. Nothing unusual about that, but in this case the difference in $ is quite significant.

Thanks for any pointers.

Bill Larson (mastermind behind The List) had a good deal on a pair not long ago - somewhere in the $175 - $180 range for silver OPs laced to Ultegra hubs. You can email him at: wlarson@stdairy.com

I have had nothing but good luck with parts/components from him.

Ultegra hubs, 32 spoke 3-cross. Hand built, not machine built. You may find cheaper, but not too many will be hand built.

I appreciate the tips, but I am looking for the rims only, not a built up wheelset. More fun building my own.
