...it's great to see that there may be a trend towards smaller, more fuel-efficient cars again. Remember how we all ditched the big gas-guzzlers in the early 80's after the whole oil embargo fiasco? It seems that we've utterly forgotten this whole episode and, studies confirm, we are again producing and buying cars that are as fuel *inefficient* as during the 70's (albeit with superior emissions control). It's good that a major sports figure like Armstrong is the spokesperson for a car like that produced by Subaru. I'm actually feeling guilty for owning a Nissan Xterra to be honest.

granted I can't keep my foot out of it either.

And as for you "subarus have no style" folks, you are the ones in the BMWs and Audis that I enjoy summarily dropping at the stoplights.
