|A friend of mine decided that for a special application he wanted a 77 tooth titanium chainring. He sent his request to an overseas mfr to see if they could build his 77. A month or so later, this arrived. (two of them)
As you can see, it is a 77, but check it out! They put 77 teeth on a 53 ring size! Even if you had a rear cog to match, what chain could you use?!
He gave me this one, I think I will make a wall clock out of it...heh heh

|" . . .what chain could you use?!"
From friend who is exchange student Univ. of Iowa Davenport IA, he say America has very big "chain store" everywhere - 10,000 square meter for floor, or more large!
Ask sale person in chain store to make the measure of toothe tip to toothe tip, may be 3 mm? than get chain with same bitch, IE roller bush to roller bush measure.
Was not able to do resisting with this. ;-)

|There are chains out there (out of production now i think) that have smaller links and therefore more of them. That also means that the rings and cogs are to have more teeth as well.
Its old stuff, and has something to do with track bikes.
Woof the dog.
P.S. i can find out more if you want.
