My son asked me to inquire about the Colnago Master X-light. He's shopping, and really likes steel and Colnago--a VERY conservative kid. I've never seen a Colnago steel [at least not in the last few years], but recall some mention here in the past. Any endorsements? Cautions? Comments? I appreciate your input. Thanks.

but, as is always the case, make sure it fits. Make sure the geometry is what he wants and what works for his type of riding. There are many fine steel rides, some of the best from US custom builders that won't cost any more than the Colnago, plus you get their fitting expertise and advice. Assuming a good fit, he would not be disappointed with the Colnago. One of the classic examples of Italian work and a benchmark for steel bicycles.
