|Tour De Langkawi...getting PC or pissy?||hycobob|

|Whats up with the blue jersey? Some people might say, "what a novel idea, a special jersey for the east Asian rider with the best time". But whats next...a special white jersey for the anglo with the best time? The PC crowd would go ape-sh!t when a rider wore a pointed aero helmet for individual TTs.|

|Who cares? Let them have their blue jersey. It is pretty similar to American MTBer's getting spanked by europeans at the national championships but only an american gets to wear the championship jersey. It devalues the jersey but it is better than nothing.|

|quit your bellyaching. Did you notice it's the Tour of LANGKAWI. They are proud of their country and region as well as promoting the best Asian riders. And you would be complaining because why? There are too many Asians in the sport? It's a non-issue and you are a freak for bringing it up.
Try being open minded, might work out better for you.

|I never infered that there were too many Asian riders in the sport...quite the opposite. So your flames are baseless and if you'll look a few days back, the question was brought up as to what the "blue jersey" was. How would you like to see the same thing for French, Italian, and Spanish riders in the other big tours? If this is open-mindedness, Trent Lott must be your idea of Mr. PC.|

|whimpy backpedaller! Here is part of your post--" Some people might say, "what a novel idea, a special jersey for the east Asian rider with the best time". But whats next...a special white jersey for the anglo with the best time?"
Your post wasn't an informative answer to someone else's post. And, retard, do the French, Italian and Spanish riders need more promotion within pro cycling? The TDL is an up-and-coming tour as is that whole area of the world for cycle sport.
I LIKE the fact they are proud of their riders and try in some way to promote them. And, retard, the other Tours DO promote their riders- it's called TOUR SELECTION. Where the organizers PICK teams to compete. You don't think the French are biased for the TDF?
These issues are not a problem for anyone else but you whine about the Asian Blue Jersey in the TDL. Why? You're the one that sounds like Trent Lott.

|most people probably think it's a good idea to help grow the sport of cycling within Asia. It has nothing to do with being PC or pissy. Tour de Faso has a Best African Rider jersey for the exact same reason.
I bet most Italian cycling fans know who the highest placed Italians were at every Milan-San Remo race etc. etc, it's about National pride, surely you can understand that.

|Why do the Asians need their own jersey for themselves? I'll simply say it: Asians are not good enough to play with the "big boys" (Euros) in the world of cycling...neither are the Africans, Arabs, Greeks...on and on. This isn't about ability or genetics...it's about culture...and if you want to nurture the sport of cycling, you need to acknowledge and reward your nationality's athletes in that said "fringe" sport.|

|and its rewarded by having a special jersey to denote the efforts taken and won by that top asian rider. ...duh!!! asians know they cant really compete with full time euro professional riders, so they also compete amogst themselves....is that so difficult to understand? why don't you try riding with some of them, and when u're dropped, maybe u'll respect competitive riders everywhere.|
