The new 4-door Ford and Nissan small trucks all have these way too short beds that require dropping the tailgate to carry your bikes. Anyone have the new Toyota 4-door Tacoma and carry your bikes in the bed. I use a Grabber bike rack for truck beds, no holes to drill. I've always had trucks with an 8' bed, but am thinking about going smaller now that I don't work out of it anymore. Still gotta keep a truck though, being in Texas and all.

do you mean with both wheels still attached?

most road bikes are approx 170cm total length, or about 67 inches, or 5'7".

So trucks with 8 or 6 foot beds are OK. Anything less would require angling of the bikes or removal of the wheel.

Is it OK to drive a Toyota Truck in Texas?

I'm able to fit my bikes in the bed using a fork mount with the tailgate raised. Great truck, btw - lots of room inside, enough out back to do everything I do, good power. My only complaint is that it wasn't available with a manual transmission and the V6.
