I have seen lots of people use these for running and such. never seen a cyclist do it. seems like there would be benefits from training a couple times a week at a weight 15 to 20 pounds heavier than you actually are. especially some climbing drills. am i wrong about this?
we hit this one like a mf a week or so ago, try a search nmcollinsc

I've noticed that I feel much stronger and faster after a long, self-contained bike tour. It's much better to keep the weight on the bike, not the body.
yeah it workscyclopathic

feel soo much faster when jump from brevet bike to road. And it's only 10lbs more /plus fat slow tires and 32 spoke wheels/
after thinking about it, i agree.aet

i don't have a touring bike but i guess i can but a mixture of leadshotand sand in one of my larger water bottler. i think that may be enough weight to lenghten the hills around here.
