|a q about tough tires..........||mealex|

|I'm quite new to road-bike roading, and was wondering what makes of tires are known for their durability, or strength, or ruggedness, or whatever descriptor one wants to apply?
I have to ride over 2 miles of gravel road, before I get to paved road, and wanted to reduce the overall frequency of flats and/or, have a tire that would be the most hospitable to that sort of sharp and bumpy abuse.
Any help is greatly appreciated............Thanks

|I have a set on my touring bike that have logged upwards of 3000 miles, and they haven't flatted yet. They just won't die....|

|I don't ride them anymore, but Performance Forte Kevlars were bulletproof. I never had a flat on them and the wore like iron. They were not the most comfortable or sure-cornering tire on the market, but the price was right.

|2nd that. Michelin Axial Carbons are awesome. 2700 miles and counting for the front without a flat. (damn I just cursed myself) And 2300 miles before the 1st flat on the rear. Best of all they only cost about 30 bucks.|| |
