Ou local club and Team is doing a something I thought might benifit a few ofyourselves. We got in touch with some Canadian clubs who live around the area of the next WC and are offering for them to come and ride in North Carolina to get away fromthe dark Canadian winter. In ecxhange we are invited to stay with them during the race. This way, they get some base miles and we dont have to worry about staying someplace to see if Lance can pull off another WC. Just a thought for you people who live in sunny places all year. It seems to be working very well....and hell, you can do alot worse then housing another cyclist in your house for a week eh?

If you were contacting local clubs then at the top of your list must have been " The StCatharines Cycling Club" to which I am a member. I would be glad to put up one person.

But from what I can see on the TV the weather in North Carolina has not been so warm, didn't you guys get SNOW!!

Thats a great club and exactly what we are talking about. One person in a house...yeah we got some of that white stuff but its all gone. The news played it out much worse then it actually was...well...for the most part, some areas got hammered. I don't know, if you have ever spent a winter in the North above say, Penn it makes this look like heaven. Then again, they have snow plows and are prepared unlike here. No one puts snow tires on here and most SUVs are 2 wheel drive LOL. People usually come in say late FEB or March when its like in the 70s here but still freezing up there. Its a good idea to do it through a club or race team that way you get several people you know to come down together which provides some time to spend with your team or close friends.

Yes, we did. However, this weekend's forecast: sunny and 60 to 65 degrees with a light breeze. Come on down, y'all!!

Here's a link to the St.Catharines Cycling Club Webpage, we are the largest racing club in Southern Ontario and are only 50 km from Hamilton. Anyone travelling to the area for the World Championships should consider staying in Niagara as it is close to Hamilton, more Hotels (mainly due to Niagara Falls) and if you are planning on doing any riding then Niagara is the best area around. The club has weekend training rides that a visitor may be interested in ( they are fast). I'd suggest posting a message on the Club webpage forum to inquire about members who may board someone for the Worlds.
