check ebay listing on resales - bikes that are great values when new bring much more than over priced bikes. An Ultegra Specialized, Fuji, Jamis, or Motobecane that you paid $1100 for will bring about as much as a Trek or Cannondale that you paid $2000 for

With a few exceptions, bikes are like cars--they're toys or art objects or just nice things to have around, not investments. Ask the people who paid $750,000 for a Cobra or $1 million-plus for a Ferrari 10 years ago...

do you ever consider the resale value as part of the decision? If you liked both a BMW 325 and an Audi A4 - would you consider at all the the BMW holds its value better
