Anyone with first hand experience with these wheelsets? Sniffing around for a durable, trouble-free wheelset that are aero and at first glance, they seem to fit the bill.

I have a pair '98 and they've been very good. Comparing to 32 spoked wheels they feel much faster at speeds 23-28mph. Not much slower then Carbons or RevX at fraction of cost.

The only problem I had that after 4 years grease gummed up and hub stopped engaging at sub 25F temp. Worked well above freezing. Mavic warrantied hub. BTW the problem isn't Cosmic specific; other mavic hubs were doing it too 'till they changed grease.

The front wheel is great. The back is kind of weak if you are over 160 Lbs.

I've had my Equipes for 5 years and just got them bacj from being rebuilt by Mavic. I broke a couple of rear spokes during a race a few years ago, but that's the only failure I've had with these wheels. I thought I was caught in a drive-by though. The spokes are under so much tension, when they broke, I though I'd been shot at! The front never so much as went out of true for the last three years.
Mavic charged me $200 to rebuild both wheels with new rims and spokes.
I truly like them and believe that they are fast and bulletproof! I weigh 180 and am hard on equipment that I race on! I ride 'em a lot! They probably had 10-12k miles on them before the rebuild. $200 for what amounts to a new set of wheel ain't bad. I ride the front wheel in every crit!
In my opinion, they are a great, economical choice.

These (Cosmic Equipe's) are super wheels. I'm over 200lbs & have never had a problem with them. I have Spinergy's (Rev-X), Ksyriums & these. I usually have the Cosmic on the front & the Ksyrium on the rear. They look cool without the decals also. They have NEVER gone out of true in about 6,000 miles & the price is really good.
