|I will be visiting Ottawa this weekend and was looking for some ride advice? Any groups going out Sunday morning? I wouldn't mind doing 60 miles at a good pace on some quiet country roads, take in the sites and meet some people.|
|Canada, eh? Have you checked the weather lately? (nm)||CalgaryDave|

|Well my friend, it is -30C with the wind chill this morning. Big respect to all of the commuters out there, I still see a few biting into the wind every morning.
There are not any club rides or group rides. The OBC's skating party is coming up soon, that is the closest thing to a few riders in one spot I can think of.
Bring your skates, the world's longest skating rink (the Rideau Canal) is in fine form. There is a cool ice cafe at Dow's Lake(I'm looking at it now from my office window) that is alot of fun. Spend some time walking around the Byward Market, have real french coffee and pastries.
If you cross-country ski, Gatineau Park is fun. That is where we ride and race in the summer, but in the winter the roads are not plowed and the skiers take over.
Bring very warm clothing. I mean be ready for a high of -15C, that will be about it.

|In case you haven't heard, IT'S THE MIDDLE OF FREAKING WINTER!!!!!!!!!
60 miles down a barely-ploughed country road? with a 50 kph headwind and -30c temperatures? Yeah, right! What planet are YOU calling from??? Sheesh!
(Sorry-cabin fever is getting to me)
