| Good frame for under $500? | Matno Jan 22, 2003 4:58 AM | | My LBS offered me a new Cannondale CAAD4 frame and fork(2002 I think) for $500. I'm just wondering what other frames are available for the same price or less that offer a comparable ride. Any suggestions? (Besides eBay. I want to compare the actual frames first, THEN maybe I'll start looking for good deals on used ones...) |
| Check out chucksbikes.com | tmotz Jan 22, 2003 7:04 AM | | They have a good selection but I don't know how they compare to Cannondale.Plus there frames are generally the smaller sizes. For $500. you could pick up a frame with forks and some components. |

GVH has some CAAD4 framesets for $495, so your $500 from a Cannondale dealer seems good. (I don't know if a CAAD purchased from GVH would have full factory warranty. It might, but I've never asked). They have lots of framesets (mostly steel, some alu) under $500. The DeBernardi Aelle is a really cheap (but heavy) lugged steel frameset, if you can find a dealer. |
