A Dean update...(20 posts)

A Dean update...merckx56

So many of you read about my adventures in dealing with Dean bicycles, trying to get a frame warrantied. After four days of BSing around and getting excuses, I finally got some resolution. Dean admitted that they dropped the ball. No shit Sherlock! John at Dean picked up the ball and ran with it. He is sending out a El Diente CTi for warranty in place of the steel/carbon bike we sent back. That's right folks, a Ti frame with carbon rear stays at no charge for warranty! If every deal worked out this well...
I'm glad there was finally someone who sacked up and copped to the fact that they f'ed up, but it still shouldn't have taken this long!
Good for you.....Len J

and good for them. They have gotten enough good press on this sight, it's good to see that they did the right thing and that you (publicly) give them credit for it.

I dislike it when somone blasts someone & then never gives the good side.

at least in my dealings with Dean. however, he really has to be backed into a corner before he gets his @ss in gear. (again, based on my dealings with Dean)

hope you enjoy your ride as much as i'm enjoying mine.

Did you change your handle from Rollo Tommassi to rt or is there just some coincidence going on? Just wondering...

My compliments to you.

when we finally got to the very top and were still marvelling at the goats (ok, we were sucking some serious wind too....air's thin up there!) about 2 minutes after us up comes 2 people on a 4-wheel drive thingy. the goats didn't even blink so i'm guessing that it's a common occurrence.

a little later we came over the top of a nasty steep climb to find ourselves face-to-face with 2 guys, their tent, and their SUV!! it looked like something out of a Jeep commercial with the car parked at the edge of this precipice (sp?) and a 360 degree panorama.

we passed this a little while later on our descent:

everyone we passed was just amazed that we had actually ridden the trail under only the power of our legs.

rt - go figure.

Isn't this a post about Dean bikes? Where does this relate to Dean? I mean, I don't see a bike there ... what gives?

Not complaining.

Long live kick ass female riders.

I think that your customer will like the frame...Gregory Taylor

I have an El Diente CTI and really like it. Glad to see them step up to the plate. I'd be curious to get your opinion of the frameset when you get it and build it up...

It is supposed to be produced this week and have the panel painted on next week. I should see it "the first week of February" according to them. I'll let you know.

Great job advocating for your customer. By giving Dean credit for ante-ing up you're allowing them to realize some return on their PR investment. This is kind of a win/win.
