| Pegoretti and U2 tubing | Berm Jan 21, 2003 10:40 AM | | Trashed my Pegoretti Fina Estampa last week (a run in with a car) and am getting ready to buy a Pegoretti CCKMP. Does anyone have any experience with the CCKMP or U2 tubing? FYI, I weigh 154 pounds and the frame will be a 49cm and the bike will be used for lots of hill climbing, sprinting and racing. |

Some say that makes it more susceptible to breaking. Pegoretti says that they overbuild their frames so that they're a little heavier but stronger. If I were to buy a U2 bike, the CCKMP would be the one. Why? Because I think Pegoretti's quality is impeccable and would find myself hard pressed to buy from another manufacturer. If I had to replace my Fina, I'd either buy a GGM or custom Fina. The CCKMP's lightweight is nice, but I don't think it's the best option... especially not as your only bike. I would love to have all three, but having to choose between the three, the CCKMP would be at the bottom of my list.
