I really hope for his sake and the sake of Euro racing in general that he can get back on track and make a real go of it.
yeah but, judging by the palm...Akirasho

...I'd say he's not training the slopes of Alp d'Huez or Ventoux (I know, I know... impassable at the moment)...

Still, the sport... and our enjoyment of said can only be heightened by his return!

Be the bike.
It's going to be weird seeing him on a Bianchi. nmSintesi

Having Ullrich on the team is one step. Does anyone know where Coast stand in terms of qualifying for inclusion in the roster of TdF, the Giro or the Vuelta?

If all they get to race is one days, or minor tours it will affect the perception of the value Coast got for their $2 million.

Actually, they have AGREED to pay euros 6 million over three years.

depending on the rate of exchange applied that will be between USD $2 and USD $2.35 million per year for each of the three years of the contract as he earns it.

$2 million.

Easy.

I did a quick search (COAST site, bikejerseys.com etc.) and could not find Coast's new tem kit. Any idea if they have new colors for 2003? Sure would be an improvement over last year's.
Did coast keep zulle too?spookyload

do you suppose Bianchi would be hated...DougSloan

Would Bianchi bikes become hated items here in the US if Ullrich managed to pull off a TdF win? Not that there's much chance of that happening...

None, according to Jan himselfNiwot

He's quoted today (Jan. 20) on cyclingnews.com saying he will need all of 2003 to get back to top form and he wants to shoot for TdF wins in 2004 and 2005.

If true, then that explains why he said no to CSC. They offered him only 1 year, which doesn't do Jan any good if he won't be 100% until 2004.
