|Can someone explain or direct me to site that explains road race rankings under the UCI? AS in 2.HC, 1.HC, CDM, 1.3, 1.5, 2.3, etc. . .
I'm interested in how many points are awarded and how the races are weighted. I have a fair idea just by seeing the race names and knowing their prestige but would like to know more. I tried to find an explanation at the UCI site w/ no luck.
As always, many thanks!

|Cycle Sport explains the system as follows: Races are classified according to the amount of points available for riders who do well. Single-day races are ranked in order, from the most important - the World Cup events (WC) through 1.HC (hors-categorie) and then 1.1 down to 1.6.
Stage races are similarly classified, with the three Grand Tours (GT) - of Italy, France and Spain - offering most points, then 2.HC followed by 2.1 to 2.6.
