Giant TRC1 Composite - BB KnockingBananaman

I recently bought the new Giant carbon TCR1 with full Ultegra groupo. When I stand up and put my weight on the pedals I usually get a knocking noise coming from the bottom bracket area. I understand that aluminium frames have the same problem but surely not on carbon frame bikes.
Has anyone else experienced the same thing?
That's NOT normal, regardless of frame material.JS

My first guess is that a crank arm is working loose, check both with an 8mm allen wrench. If not that or the BB died already(which I doubt) check the bonding of the frame near the BB. Good luck.

Thanks JS,
I'm going to dismantle the cranks and BB to check, grease and reassemble cups and bolts to the recommended torques. I'll also use ptfe tape (plumbers tape) around the BB cups. I read that this ensures threads mate together correctly by taking up the 'tolerance' between threads.

My feeling is that I shouldnt be doing this to a brand new bike but it'll give me the experience since I havent done it before.

regards
