I'm installing a Deda Newton 26 stem. They say to tighten the face plate bolts to 8 NM (6 lbs). The torque wrench I have only reads in IN Pound / CM Kilogram. So would I take the above torque value multiply 6X12" and come up with 72 IN Pounds?

Yes... to convert ft. lbs. to inch lbs. just multiple the value (6) by 12....
