Bicycling around Lake Michigan?Chuck007

I am planning to bike around Lake Michigan next summer and I was looking for any information that would be helpful for this adventure! I did some searching on the Internet and found the following web site http://www.cyclotour.com/prod01.htm. I was wondering if any body has seen this book and if it would be a good resource.

Thanks in advance!!!!

I'm not familiar with the book. Another possible source is Adventure Cycling. They've got a cross country route that goes over the North side of Michigan and back down through Michigan to Indiana. Here's a direct link to the map section of their site: http://www.adventurecycling.org/routes/lakes.cfm

This won't give you a complete circle but the maps will be aimed a you the cyclist.

Good luck, have fun

I work in Milwaukee, and there is guy who works in my building who does trips like the one you are planning routinely. If you do a google search on "lake superior" in the google group rec.bicycles you can find his account of a trip he made around Lake Superior. It's a very nice piece of writing.

I've only spoken to the guy (Ron) a time or two, but I would guess that if you sent him an email (listed in his google piece) he could be of considerable help.

Good luck.
