mine was a generic brand from Dicks and worked fine for my mt bike tires but struggled to get to 120 psi on my road bike

I have a Zefal . . . Husky, I think it is, that somebody gave me two or three years ago, and a $19.95 Joe Blow I bought off a clearance table so I could keep a pump at work. To be honest, they work just about the same. The JB has a better head (switchable schrader to presta); the Zefal is easier to pump, but not enough to matter. I'd buy either one again.

You won't ever regret buying this pump. 120 psi is a no brainer. Accurate gauge. Readily available rebuild parts (required every 5-10 years). Will never wear out. If you get the SuperPista, the Presta only chuck is perfect. THE standout floor pump. Full stop.

I've had mine since 1986. Ive replaced a couple of washers and the leather piece inside the barrel. I replaced the original Presta/Schraedr pump head on mine with one that is bell shaped for presta valves. If you unscrew it you are left with a Schrader pump. I like it much better than the original.

On an AIDS ride there were all kinds of pumps. The Silcas were the only ones left around for general use that worked well at the end of the ride.

Recently bought a cheap Nashbar pump on sale for $15 (the blue one with both the presta and schraeder holes on the same side) and it works much better than the $40 Specialized pump it replaced.
