Happy New Year!

Just curious if anyone else keeps track of feet climbed for the year?

I just started marking route maps with elevations so I could calculate elevation total and judge steepness of various climbs. It has been very helpful in evaluating my various rides. Topozone.com has the US Geological Survey maps on line. Very enlightening.... (Hasn't moved me onto the big ring for those steep climbs or taken me to Mont. Ventoux yet though...)
Not sure I trust the altimeter, but ...Humma Hah

... I've got a 3-year-old CatEye AT-100 that thinks it has climbed a total of about 350,000 ft, mostly on the cruiser. The first year it was on my MTB, and didn't get used that much.

It usually reads a LITTLE higher than actual, but can pick up some stray amount between rides as air pressure varies.

Call a typical century 4000-5000 feet of climbing, say I ride 4000 miles a year, that's pushing 200,000 ft per year, so maybe the little bugger's not that far off.
