|I'm in the middle of doing it. Make that the begining of doing it and I havent gotten beyond getting the brake pad holders off the bike. Please tell me there is an easy way to do this.|

|Well, I assume that you have the new ones on hand as the old ones may be ruined in process. With pad and holder in hand put the bolt(or nut, depending on what you want to call it) back on the pad. Place the bolt in the vice between something that will not mar or warp the surface with the pad opening in the holder pointing toward the back of the vice. Use a flat bladed screwdriver and press down into the pad and push it toward the opening in the holder. They usually are pretty tite. After it is out, spray Hair spray in the holder and push the new one back in.
Repeat as required

The open ends face backwards, closed end forward. See Zinn for Roadbikes, page 127.
