Plenty of areas to ride. There are many clubs in the DFW area. The Metroplex is huge so it depends on where you live.

Not yet sure where I'll be living - - probably one of the towns just north of Dallas.

well, that's pretty much my location. i'm 25 miles north of Dallas. if you end up in the Richardson/Plano/Allen/Frisco area, email me at fuelrocker@hotmail.com and i can help you out for sure (put the topic of the email as BICYCLING or else it may get deleted as junk mail accidentally).

Thomas.

I'm from Dallas, and I've got to say that I think it sucks for riding. During the week, you're probably limited to neighborhoods and white rock lake if you don't want to be run over. On the weekends, it's not too bad. There are alot of group rides heading out from all over town. If you want to be able to ride on a regular basis during the week, you either need to live or work near white rock lake or live out in north plano where you access more rural areas to ride.
only sucks if you live IN Dallas...EpicX

grew up in cedar hill though (south dallas county). great riding, lots of hills, good roads, right on the edge of the country. if you're in the 'burbs, you won't have much trouble finding good safe places to ride.

however, you are taking your life in your hands if you live in Dallas proper. I lived within 3 miles of downtown for the last 5 years and that was my biggest complaint. heavy traffic to whiterock and then laps around the lake. gets old quick. having said that, got hit by vehicles at least 4 or 5 times in the 'burbs. not once in dallas. go figure...

just moved to Plano temporarily, maybe i'll start riding like lance now. at least i don't have to drive forever to do the Richardson Bike Mart rides...
