|And where can I get lembas bread? That stuff is supposed to be the ultimate in energy/endurance food!
Yes, I have been VERY lazy the past couple of weeks. The TWO TOWERS is a great diversion but I think next I will attempt riding my trainer through all 3.5 hours of the Fellowship extended version :-)
Happy Holidays may your new year be filled with great rides!

|No doubt that the best feature of TTT is Gollum. Could he/it be nominated for an Oscar? After all there are actors doing the movements and facial expresions.
Well enough RBR, must go back to hug my precious, my own, new road bike...

|What would a Nazgul ride?||SnowBlind|
Dec 31, 2002 9:01 AM
|a Project One in custom black?
I can just see it now, Team Sauron vrs Team of the White Hand (Uruk-Hai on mountian bikes) in the 2003 (Shire Reconing) Tour de Mordor...
|What would the LOTR- 2T's charactersl ride?||Bill J Pappas|

|I think a Nazgul would look good on a Giant TCR carbon, with all carbon components/Record groupo! The black stealth look of carbon probably suits their character best!
Gimli, the dwarf would look good with a cyclocross bike, covers short distances quickly, on adverse terrain!
Gandalf the White, a Merlin Cielo, with Record components!
Saruman the Wise, could see him on a cruiser bike!
Sauron, no need for a bike, he'd just probably melt it down in the fires of Mt. Doom, to make more rings of power, to make all cyclists in the world do his bidding!
With the hobbits, I'm kinda stumped considering their huge feet would either cause either front wheel-toe overlap, or their heels would be smacking against the stays! Perhaps a bike manufacturer who makes hourglass stays(cannondale,merlin etc..)
|the hobbits would need alex moulton's(nm)||rufus|

|Ooo! Ti rings of power! Would that be a 9T?||SnowBlind|
Dec 31, 2002 9:16 PM
|Saruman on an E-bike or a "Ginger". Can a Segway make it around Isengard in one charge?
Gandalf on a classic Celeste Bianchi with Super-Record.
(Gandalf riding that hack Merlin's namesake, bah! Heretic!)
Gimli would be on "Seven" cross, for sure.
Riders of Rohan on SS or fixie.
Hobbits on blade scooters, or bent's.
|Isn't it obvious, they all would ride custom Rivendell's (nm)||Scot_Gore|

|My favourite was the dwarves talking about sprinting||PODIUMBOUNDdotCA|
Dec 31, 2002 10:11 AM
|My favourite line in the entire movie was when the dwarf was running with the elves and said "We dwarves are not made for long distances... we are natural born sprinters you see. Very dangerous over a short distance!..." Take out the thing about the dwarves and you got my exactly my line every road race, crit or fast long ride I've ever entered.
Happy new years,
