Wet-weather brake pads?(2 posts)

Wet-weather brake pads?DT

Hey, I'm stationed in Germany at Ramstein Air Base...the weather here pretty much sucks, but I'm still willing to ride. Right now I have Shimano Ultegra brake pads on my bike, but they leave that nasty, gray, gritty film over the rims when it's wet out. Does anyone have any recommendations as to some good wet weather brake pads? Thanks!

I just switched to Kool Stop "salmon" colored pads from Ultegra. They are much better in the rain, although no pad will stop you all that well when wet. The kool stops have a bowed shape that squeegees off the rim so it will start grabbing quicker than most pads.
