Promised to keep you informed.

Went to my LBS yesterday and ordered a new frame, a Colnago CT-1. Way over my initial budget, but I hope this beauty will last. Could have gone for one of Colnago's elaborate clourscheme's, but the blank version seemed more timeless.

Now all I have to do is wait, wait and wait. It will take at least 10 weeks for the frame to be delivered. Fortunatyely it's winter over here, so come spring, come Colnago.

I'll keep you posted when the frame has arrived. Till then good riding!

Jowan

Thanks for the update.

The CT-1 is a gorgeous frame - test rode one a few months ago, yet it was well over my budget then, and still is :o( Also, good choice with the "colour" scheme!

Have you considered groupset, wheels, bars etc?

Cheers
Well done...Jowan

Right now the budget is blown on the frame alone. However, the components of my Bianchi were not all that bad, so I will still use them. Ultegra 9sp, ITM Millennium bar/stem/post and Mavic Ksyriums.

The Ultegra gruppo has seen quite a life, and although its still performing very well, it not so good to look at any more, corroded in some places and full of scratches. When te new Dura Ace gruppo arrives in 2004(?) I will buy some new jewelry for the CT-1 to shine with :).

How's your EV2 build up? Any pictures?

Shimano on Colnago = bad taste. My opinion only.

Put record on mine but I don't see the problem with Shimano.

Apparently, Ernesto doesn't mind throwing frames and bucks at teams that take money and bits from Shimano. Obviously, you don't have to have his preferences. But it's his design and his name and he doesn't mind . . .

My EV2 is built with Record 10sp, Cinelli Solido/Solida Magnum bar/stem, Record Carbon seatpost and Campagnolo Neutrons - oh, and a Pantani Flite saddle...

No pictures at the minute, but I will post them soon.

Great, that baby should fly up any hill/mountain you encounter. It take it the 'engine' is suited for the bike ;)

Thanks to The Human G-Nome I now have a good idea on how the CT-1 will look when finished, see his posting above.

Regs,

Jowan

I use to "fly" on a bike, then the evil bicycle pixies got to me...

Shortly after I built up my EV2, I came down with a nasty tummy bug - I did not ride for 3 weeks. Then, as I was getting better, said tummy bug infected my liver... Doctor will not let me ride until "my liver is performing properly!" He believes this will be a further month!

I have only ridden 100km on my EV2, and I suspect when I do get better, my fitness will have suffered significantly:o( And it is Summer here in Oz :o(...
