Take a look at the bidders on the two items this guy has for sale on e-Bay:
http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&userid=oui19&include=0&since=-1&sort=3&rows=25
Think there is any chance these aren't bidders pumping the prices for their buddy?

you could be right, but what also disturbs me is when they don't have a photo of the acutal bike, but something out of a catalog.

There's a oui19 that posts here. How many oui19s can there be.

I'd be a little skeptical of the bidding. Same few guys outbidding each other for items from the same seller. Sounds fishy to me.

It would not surprise me if they were one in the same... I'd be willing to be that one of these people do not bid the reserve, otherwise he'd have to sell...and pay ebay for that matter. I will watch this guy and any other bikes he has out there. I appreciate the heads up.

well, I cant say for sure, but the guy appears... to be pretty legit. Has all positive comments from different sources, so this may just be a coincidence...maybe, maybe not. Upon his history, I'd do business with him!

In the other auctions, I dont see a lot of other similar activity, such as stuff bought by one, but the same thing sold by another, or similar reserve price bid ups by these same users.

However the only odd thing I see is with the trevman@mychi.com person. This same person bought something way back in 2000, and resurfaced on Nov 2 of this year in the bidding for a 2003 TCR. The weird thing is that in he bid 2 times the previous bid. The first bid was at like $500, and then trevman came in and bid $1000. Weird... maybe... maybe not.

But again, this guy seems to be pretty active with no negative comments, so just do your homework when bidding with ANYONE just in case!!!

Suppose you want an item, and the item is currently going for $500. You really want it, but won't be available at "snipe time", the last few minutes of the bidding. You decide that it is worth no more than, say, $1000 (to you, at least), so you bid that much. Assuming that the previous high bid was a final bid, not a proxy bid, then your current bid sits at (I belive) $510, until somebody bids higher. If the previous bid was also a proxy bid for, say, $600, your bid will now be high bid, at $610. nothing funky about it-that's how e-bay works.
as far as the schill goes, I don't see one there. Granted, the same guy is bidding on the 2 bikes, and he doesn't have a lot of feedback, but it's possible.

Glad to see someone out there understands the Ebay world. As far as SHILLS goes, Maybe I am old, maybe I am not "hip" to the lingo........but what exactly is SHILLS??????? At any rate, thanks for the posting. The other people who had such wonderful things to say about me have yet to grow balls and contact me!
Thanks for the bidding!funknuggets

Hey, that is interesting. I havent spent that much time out there on Ebay, but I dont doubt a thing that you have said. As I said about oui19, Id do business with him. And the point I was trying to get across is that you have to do your homework regardless of who you are bidding with.

Probably entirely a coincidence.

I was given the heads up by another Ebay user..........think what you may want, but I have no control over who bids on my auctions......check ALL my feedback (I am Ebay user oui19) I have NEVER had any negative feedback and sell nothing but top notch items at HUGE savings. As far as jacking the bids..........this is hard to do since I have a reserve price on my auctions......I could careless if 500 people bid on my auctions.....the only bid I care about is the one that wins the auction after the reserve is met. If the item does not sell, I will sell it locally from MY SHOP! I am just trying to help the cycling community out with great savings, so just keep posting your little comments, where the person my never find them, instead of contacting me directly. Enjoy your little forums.
