I just bought a set of Velocity Deep V's off of Ebay. This is my first time making a bike related purchase from there. The wheels are apparently three years old, but were only ridden for a short time because his wife didn't like the stiffness of the wheels, and so rode OP's. I figure that they should be a good set for training and for $125 a set of handbuilt wheels, that have less than 600 miles on them is a good deal. If not I will put them back up on ebay, and see what I can get back from the market. Dampen my joy if you think it was a bad move. I'm interested in people's opinion. Thanks

Not that they're beater wheels, but they're strong and somewhat heavy. Actually the bike they're on was my main ride when I got them, but I bought a new one.
I like the Deep V's for general riding and training--they're brutally strong, have stayed true for more than a year (unusual for me; I weigh 225 and ride bad roads) and even when I broke a spoke, they didn't go out of true badly enough that I had to open the brakes to get home.
You paid less than I did, too. Nice buy.

You scored a deal there. The nubs are nice, spokes could be lighter, but that's an easy switch, and those rims are great. Strong, light (for their size), and very durable.
They should be great for training, and decent for racing (road courses, not so good for crits due to weight).

I've got the tubular version (Elite) of your wheels with Am Classic hubs and bladed DTs - 28F/32R. A very stiff and solid set of wheels. Being a rather strong 195lb all-rounder of a rider, their reputed porkiness doesn't bother me; mine are on par with Kysriums. Quickness is not a problem for me, and with them I am fearless about riding them hard.
