|Just got a Sierra Trading Post mail catalog, and they have 2002 Marin San Marino road bikes (Dedacciai COM 12.5 frame, Campy Centaur/Veloce mix) for $1000. They also have a couple of MTB models.
This is very strange - I've been getting STP catalogs for years and can't recall ever seeing overstock bikes. Is Marin in some kind of financial trouble? I can't imagine Marin dealers being happy with these overstock sales.

|$1000 huh? Pretty good deal. I've seen them at Sport Chalet for about $1500 which I thought was pretty good.|

|Overstock.com also was clearing out some Marin bikes. I think they still have a couple of models left. I have bought from them a few times and have always been happy with their service but they are not selling as much cycling gear as they used to. THey have the Centaur equipped Marin Argentina on sale at the moment for $999. Look out for coupns though, they often offer 10 or 20% off coupons. Keep an ey on coupon web sites for those and you may get one for $800.
Marin makes some very nice road bikes. They have italian made steel frames. They were using some funky color patterns that looked like the Partridge Family Bus for a couple of years though. I really lusted after a steel mountain bike they made. The detail and finish was beautiful.
