What a nice surprise in North Carolina today it was 59 degress at the start of my ride this afternoon it is really amazing how the body reacts to warmer conditions compared to 30's and 40's whole different feeling. For me after a 2.5 hrs of riding in 30-40 degress it feels like I just did 7 or 8 hours of riding . oh well one warm day back to 40 degress for the high on Tuesday.

I took off work early on Monday so I could take advantage of the nice weather. The wind wasn't even bad. It's amazing how the cold temperatures slow you down, in addition to making it less comfortable. I've been struggling to keep a 15-16 mph average lately riding solo on cold days. On Sunday, I went on a group ride where we barely broke 16 mph. Two months ago, rides with the same group were averaging 18-19.5 mph.

Sorry, but there's not much else to be proud of here, so the mild winter HAS to be brought up. As much as I love the Rockies, I'll enjoy the local climate instead. We all have to make do with what we have. Still, I couldn't imagine having to ride a damned trainer in a basement like they do up North. Nope, ain't gonna' do it!

You'll all get your revenge on us during summer when we're dead from 98 degrees and massive humidity. ;-)
