Anybody have tights that are too long?(20 posts)

Anybody have tights that are too long?Kristin
Dec 13, 2002 6:47 AM
I can't believe I'm complaining about this. Usually I have the opposite problem, tights too short and cold air getting onto my back/butt. But, I just got my Cold Lizard tights (I'm not gonna call them Col D'lizard--it stupid, everyone knows what it means. ;) yesterday in the mail. They look nice and toasty warm, but they are 8-9 inches too long--so that the ends don't even hit my toes. Will I have problems with all that extra fabrick bunched up around my ankels? I'm worried they'll snag on my chainring. Of course, I could sow the ends closed and make "footed" tights. Or should I send them back?
Miss M has the same problem.MB1

If it is just 1-2" she will roll up the cuffs. Anything longer she just sends them back.

We use Gekko Gear tights-they are great.
We can't believe it either...Chrissakes

Get the National Guard out immediately - this is too big to handle on your own.

Put them in a lead-lined scarcophagus, and have them dropped by a space probe into the middle of the Indian Ocean.

ON NO CIRCUMSTANCES decide to sent them back (or not) on your own, or take scissors and gut on the extra on your own WITHOUT QUALIFIED SUPERVISION.

Not sure which one will make you feel better about yourself. No, I don't need any help with this. I was just being chatting and looking for a diversion from my daily chores on a Friday morning. And no, I really didn't need to post anything about it. Instead I should have posted a nasty little rant about waiting 2 friggin weeks for my "custome" tights to arrive only too discover they are so friggin long that I have to send them back and must wait 3-4 more FRIGGIN weeks before I can to ride outside again!!!

And for about being a real dick and posting under your real friggin name...or are you all dick and no man? I really have no tolarance for people who hide while attacking others. My bad, I should work to be more compasionate...but dude, do you really deserve it?
LOL, that must be pretty good coffee this morning.MB1

If they were only three inches long you could cut them off and give them to Chrissakes for warmers. He would have an extra in case he lost one.

You posted a stupid one - what the hell?

Take a leaft outta the 4 tyres/2 tyres guy's book.

Yeah you wanna rant about some bad karma on the custom tights, then rant about service.

But do you really want speculative advice on whether you bunching at the ankles is gonna catch on your chain rings? Why don't you put them on, get on the bike, make one revolution of the pedals, and see what happens?

Hidin' on the internet - catch up babe - that's the whole game - if you don't like the heat - getoutta the kitchen.
A little extra suger in the coffee this A.M.?......Len J

LOL on the appropriate response.

I think you should just use them as shoe covers. Use a twist tie from your bread and .... there you are.

P.S. Don't mind the "Pigs"
Oh right,Chrissakes

now that you are bring your intellectual might to the issue.

My name is Pete Barnes. Feel better now that I am not hiding? No, silly girl.

Oh - be sure to let us know when you have finished "sow"ing you "custome" tights which were "too" long for you.

So there you are then - I am no longer "hiding". And guess what - you are still a silly little girl with no sense of humour and your huge panties in a bunch. Have a nice day - I bet no one that works near you will.

Picking on people's spelling is sort of silly. But the spelling of "too" as in "too long" is correct. Is English your first language?

"ON NO CIRCUMSTANCES decide to sent them back (or not) on your own, or take scissors and gut on the extra on your own WITHOUT QUALIFIED SUPERVISION." Even with my silliness and severe lack of humor, I find this ammusing.

But mine aren't long enough to walk on. I just fold them over once or so and stick them inside my socks.
I'd say 8-9 inches is pretty excessive- but you could flip the ends back up toward your knees & keep your calves extra toasty. Presto, new '80's style leg warmers! (Or just send them back...)
Frankly, I'd like to hear more about the tight ones. nmCaptain Morgan

J. Vaughters gave me a pair of his CA winter tights at Veloswap in exchange for helping him out in his booth. Fortunately I can squeeze my fat arse in them, 'cos Mr. V. is built like a stick and weighs 135 lbs. dripping wet. His stuff is all EU Size 2, which translates to XS in the Land of the Fat and Home of the All You Can Eat Buffet.

Anyway, these tights (Nalini) are fabulous, if a little, err... green. Despite making my butt look like psychedelic broccoli on a bad trip, they are the best winter clothing item I've ever owned bar none. However, since their original owner is considerably taller than yours truly, I have about 3-4" excess length at the bottom, and they're stirrup tights, so that's a bit of a drag. My solution is to "cuff" them neatly in a fold at the ankle. They don't catch on the drivetrain, and they fit neatly inside my DeFeet Slipstreams.
hmmmm .... ribbit ;-) NMSpirito

It isn't bad enough that you gloat about where you live (I can live with that-I love where I live too), but now you go and start dropping names and wearing Vaughter's CA clothing! Ha! =) BTW- I have a Nalini "Prokit" winter jacket-it is truly good stuff (Although it isn't from JV =) )

I have returned a pair of tights to them for repairs, and they were more that helpful, and very expedient. I would initially say to cuff the tights, but if you would rather have them fit correctly, then by all means send them back. I am going to call them to find out about more repairs to my tights (another car accident, this time not my fault), so I can ask them about it and pass the info along to you.
