He was to go on record and support environmental causes and how cycling can help make the world a cleaner and better place to live, as well as lessen the effect of greenhouse gasses destroying the ozone. It is great what he does for cancer research, but think if he put a little effort into environmental causes.

You sure are a busy boy. Did someone spike your herb with cocaine or crystalmeth tonight?
Dec 11, 2002 8:10 PM
Herb is cool, and should be legalized. I would never recommend coke or meth to be legalized. One could argue that you could end gang warfare by legalizing, but I think more lives would be hurt more with addictions in the process. As for grass, legalize. It isn't addictive. It is harmless. Hemp can be used also for other fibrous needs such as paper, clothes, and rope. A little hemp can go a long way. It would be environmentally responsible to do so as well.
Legalize it, don't criticize itPescador

Yep, herb is cool. I was just a bit concerned about your state of mind. You seem a bit too prolific for someone who's been hitting the peace pipe on a regular basis. Find a comfy bean bag chair and take a nice nap.

I haven't lit up yet tonight. I am still wired at the United States military's action against Yemen today. We have to play the big bad bully once again. We can have our toys to kill with, but you can't have your toys to protect yourselves. Personally I think war is wrong, and I would never advocate it. I just think the US sets a double standard when it comes to this. I personally wish we would rid ourselves of all weapons right down to the last gun and give peace a chance. Right now we are preparing to go to war with Iraq. Why? Oil? I hit the nail right on the head. We are so greedy with this polluter. We deserve a dark fate unless we change our evil ways and quit sucking on the oil nipple.

Gene's Mom: Gene, how's the tofu turkey I made especially for you for Christmas?

Gene: Christmas is nothing but a sham foisted on us by the oil industry, the airlines, and the automibile manacfurers. What do people do on Christmas? Drive and fly long distances to relatives' houses, that's what. Who does that benefit? Big Oil, Big Airlines, and Big Auto. Doing away with Christmas would be a first, big step in the direction of global peace.

Gene's mom: So, the tofu's all right then?

it IS addicting. Don't tell me it's not, I have friends who need that stuff more then they need water.

But I agree it should be legalized.

I use energey effiecient computers, and I can justify the use of it. I don't use it to surf porn. It is an essential tool in saving the environment. I have software the simulates the next 100 years of global warming if continue at our pace.

Lance, in the latest Sports Illustrated mag is pictured with a big SUV and a pickup truck. It seems that he is far from being environmentally conscious.

His dear friend, Bush Jr. is probably taking care of his gas needs. :)

Sports Illustrated is a waste of trees. They should produce an online magazine and save the trees.

On Earth day I was going to plant a tree, but instead I planted my butt on the couch.

I love to eat dolphin salad sandwiches and spotted owl wings.

If more coastline was sold to developers there would be more breach front property for high rise condos. Maybe I would buy one.

Sometimes instead of putting gas in my SUV I spray it all over the ground. Just because I can.

BTW I left all the lights on in my house today.

Eugene, we can all talk nonsense so leave us alone.

This almost wiped out the entire population of Bikesketzia, except for two lone indivudals defying the Czars decree not to use Tabo, a new scientific discovery stolen from the Americans and used as a fuel tab. Scientist, even then, knew this could cause the dreaded plague that later became known as Global Warming.

Yes, Mr. & Mrs. Kablitzgee had a tab or two and saved their lives, everyone else perished, even the Siberian Wolves. Later these two escaped and hid out in a Warming Hut, risky in even those political times. They had a baby who grew up not ashamed of his parents misdeeds but changed his family name to Tchmile, just in case.

Later, much later, little Andre was born.

Well it's just a story. Could be true. :)

ChloroFluoroCarbons (CFC's) deplete the ozone layer, which is made of O3.

CO2 is a naturally occurring greenhouse gas which is also generated in relatively small quantities by mankind, which is what all the global warming stink is about.

The two problems are not in any way directly related - greenhouse gases do no destroy the ozone; if they did, the ozone would be gone by now because the earth produces massive quantities of greenhouse gases all on its own.

It doesn't help your argument much when you can't even get your stupid green causes straight.

Excuse me, but CO2 is also released by the combustible engine which is a cause of global warming.

Shut up, pleeeeeeease. Everyone knows we have environmental problems, but we are not here to talk about that. This board is for cycling. I feel sure there are plenty of forums for discussion of environmental concerns, and when I want to talk about them, I'll find one.

I can direct you to a few. I have tied it in with cycling, so really I am not at fault. There are cyclist on the board who are environmentally friendly.
