Anybody use coral calcium? The claims are pretty amazing.

The other thread got me to thinking about other supplements.

Any experience with glucosamine/chondroitin?
Co-enzyme Q10?
Niacin for reducing cholesterol????
Garlic?

Does it ever end? Any tangible results taking any of this stuff? Has your doctor actually recommended any of these?

Calcium is calcium. The question is, can your body absorb it?
Tums = chalk = coral calcium. Yes the coral might have some extra minerals in it, but so what? so does most salts, it is real hard to make it that pure.

The best form would be for it to be combined with a soluable acid, such as calcium citrate.
The other stuff? Well, if it works for you go for it. (My recollection is that Q10 is pretty much distroyed by stomach acid)
My suggestion is if you wish to use herbal suppliments, go to a traditional chinese doctor. They will ensure that at the very least you don't take something harmful and that you take the right doses.

I use glucosamine/chondroitin from gnc, I was getting tendonitis real bad in one knee (could only pedal for about 20 mins), started taking gc and never looked back.
