I've seen several of these frames in my riding area. Haven't seen any recent posts on the topic here on the board...anybody out there familiar with these custom frames?

Your posting caught my eye as I live in Yamaguchi prefecture and I haven't seen any of these frames. I am assuming Yamaguchi is a Japanese frame. I'll be stopping by the LBS either today or tomorrow and inquire for you, if the english speaking mechanic is on duty.

Cheers,

Yamaguchi is a frame builder who did work in/for the US Olympic squad a few years back (made some radical (non UCI legal by today's standards) steel frames at the time.

One of his frame designs resembled a Lotus frame... only in steel (a cantilevered "Z" shape with no downtube) and I almost snagged one (for sentimental reasons).
