|I hear this argument often from Shimano users. But who won the TdF using Shimano before Lance?.|
|Who cares, it's the engine!Lance could have won on a huffy!!||GEORGIADOG|

|Although I agree it is the engine, and Lance is the man, I think a Huffy, would handicap Lance enough so that the top contenders could overtake him.
Now, is that a Huffy with DuraAce and lightweight wheels or a complete Huffy off the rack at K-Mart? :)
Let's just say that Lance would have definitely won the TDF on Campy. The Huffy comparison is a little extreme and unrealistic.

|I have a Team 7-11 poster from around '86 showing the team standing behind a "Huffy" TT funny bike with a "Serotta" decal on the chainstay. Dura-ace equiped, too.|

|Between Shimano and Campy at the high end theres no difference even for a pro racer. The reason why Shimano had never won the Tour is because their sponsorship department wasn't thinking/couldn't get what used to be the top teams.

|They are making L.A. ride a big wheel while blindfolded. It's going to kill him in the mountain stages, those big plastic wheels don't stick to well.
I read about this on the internet so it has to be true.
