Is there an advantage to the 7710 over the 6500 BB? It is designed for the track, but is seems it would work on the road as well. The 7700 BB is sure a P.O.S. that I would not put on one of my bikes anymore.

Don't let everyone know they can use the D/A track BB instead of ultegra or the regular D/A! Seriously, I have been using the track BB for a few years now and have had zero problems. It's fully sealed (like ultegra) and had two rows of bearings on the drive side. It's much smoother and doesn't cost any more than a regular D/A BB. It's .5mm narrower, but that immaterial. You must have an english threaded BB shell, as they aren't made for italian. When people here in town blow up ultegra or D/A BBs, I sell 'em the track BB.

There is nothing wrong with a 7700BB if you install it correctly. I have over 40K on mine and still going strong
