Ding on Bike or Ding in Head?elrey

I bought a 2001 Lemond Zurich on Ebay a couple of months ago. Well when it arrived the box had a hole in it and the seat tube had a ding in it. UPS denied my claim, saying it had insufficient packaging. Still trying to resolve it with the shipper. I think it was a ding? If the paint was chipped to the steel could it look like a ding? I tried to feel and look down the seat tube from the inside. It didn't appear to bulge on the inside. It is about .5cm in diameter. Any way, I find myself looking for a new bike or frame all the time. Is there a problem with the bike other than cosmetic? It's just after paying that kind of money I wanted it to be perfect. Any thoughts to ease my pain?

When I was a lad, every time a new "item" first got scratched or dinged I would get upset - my old man said to me, "well - now you've made it yours - you'll always be able to pick that .... as yours - it has a ding!". Just look at it that way - your bike is unique now - just like everyone elses!

Be at peace child!
