I am looking at the MXZ-300 for trying to do as much road riding this winter as possible, can I use any type of road pedal with them ? I have Time(not impacts) pedals and looking to buy shoes and not another set of pedals with the shoes. Anybody use them with non SPD road pedals ?

They are a mountain style shoe, with SPD drilling. I just took my Chorus Profit pedals off for the season and put on my Shimano 535 pedals, for this reason. So far my Record cranks have not shown signs of rejecting the Shimano pedals, but I am keeping an eye on it. Fortunately the bike fashion police are inside where it is warm, so I should be alright.
