|fresh air vs. stale air||Gall|

I like to get outdoors to take in some fresh air. As of late the weather in Pa has been pretty cold and windy [i ll ride in 15 deg weather]. And to top it off I worked nightshift this weekend [I work swing shift] so I slept the day away. So I am stuck at times using the indoor trainer.
My question is, is it better for fitness to be outdoors taking in fresh air versus being inside taking in stale air?
I hope this question makes since.

|... the body requires oxygen processed through respiration to aide and abed in bodily functions... and fundamentally, doesn't care where it comes from... however, just as there may be undetectable hazardous gases present on what appears to be a glorious day out of doors, so too, your "stale" air (which is a sensory perception colored by culture) may actually be healthier... but that's splitting hares (and hairs too).
Aside from doing aerobics exercises next to a smelter (just choose an area with "relatively" fresh air), it probably doesn't matter from a physical POV, however, you're probably more apt to... and enjoy exercise in the proper enviroment... whatever that might be (that's for all you prison shut ins with internet access).
