Winter Tires?kabs

Commute about 22 miles per day on a Touring Bike here in Massachusetts. Am looking for the best Winter Tire out there for 700 series rims. Have already run into snow and ice this year. Thank you for your suggestions in advance. Scott

I can ride nearly every day in Reno on almost any tires, but we rarely have long-lasting ice or packed snow. Based on my one winter visit to Mass, you could use studded tires. Several companies make them; check www.icebike.com. You can also make your own with mountain tires and sheet metal screws, but I don't think road tires have enough meat for that.

Well, since Im from Finland I swear by the nokian studded tires. There is simply put not a better studded tire out there. Im using a 26´ Hakka wxc 300 on my mtb. Check out

for more info on 28´ tires.
